Ms. Debbie Bohr's Bio
I was born in the Prairies and grew up in Nigeria where my parents were missionaries. After high school, I attended Trinity Western University, graduating with a degree in Psychology. I received my teacher's training from Simon Fraser University and have worked in Christian Schools in the valley since 1988 and have taught Grades 1-4. I have been at M.E.I Elementary School for 6 years.
I love teaching at a Christian school because I am passionate about disciplining my students in their walk with God. I love teaching Bible for this reason. When you walk by our classroom, it will not be uncommon to notice bright original artwork on the bulletin board outside our classroom. Do not be surprised if you hear dramatic voices coming from our room as I love to read aloud to my class and use drama as a teaching tool. I also love teaching Science and creating experiments with my class as the wonders and principles of nature do declare the glory of our Creator and His character.
When not teaching, you can find me curled up with a good book, having coffee or sushi with friends and family or creating something "artsy" such as cards, paintings or scrapbooking. I love live theatre and acting in school programs and chapel skits. During Spring Break and over the Summer months, I love to travel. Throughout my life, I have been to 14 different countries and lived in 4 different parts of the world (Canada, U.S., Nigeria and New Zealand). A few summers ago, I had the privilege of going to Haiti with teachers and families from MEI to visit Heart 2 Heart.
I look forward to a great year filled with adventures in learning and building community in the class.
